Slalom Build- Referral Portal
The Company:
Slalom Build is a Global Business and tech company that provides end-to-end digital solutions for clients.
The Project:
Creating an internal referral portal/ form for web and mobile use, where employees can refer a potential employee candidate.
Role: Solo UI Designer
Tools: Figma
Timeline: 10 weeks
The Problem:
The Talent Acquisition team at Build needed a way for employees to create referrals and be able to effectively track those referrals.
Process:
I came into the project after the rough ideation for the portal had already been created by the PO and the internal XD. I was presented with the PO’s needs and the basic User Journey for the process. From there I met with the project owner as I created basic wireframes, to make sure my thoughts and her’s were in alignment. We, had weekly check-ins to make sure all needs were being addressed. After accomplishing all tasks in the MVP, I suggested that I might start to dig into post-MVP, for the Talent Acquisition side. Upon further discussion, we decided it would be helpful for the employee to be able to track their referral's progress and to be able to track bonuses from previously accepted referrals. I was able to move all post-map work into High-fidelity wireframes before my internship ended.
Web Referral Form
While creating the Referral Portal I was very intentional to stick to the same branding guidelines and aesthetic of Slalom Build. I was given assets to use and work with, but I was also responsible for creating new assets that didn’t exist yet. I created/ added to the existing design library and created all necessary instances. To ensure I was on track with everything I scheduled weekly to bi-weekly meetings with the PO as needed.

Mobile Referral Form
Accessability was a key focus on the mobile version of this form and with that making sure the all inputs and buttons had enough padding to be clickable with ease.
Post MVP mockups
After finishing up with the MVP round of this project. The PO and I decided that i would be advantageous for me to continue on designing the Post-MVP. After meeting with her, several employee and Talent Acquisition Team interviews, we decided what the basic needs for this area would be.
TA’s wanted to be able to place high priority hiring needs and special promos
TA’s need their own referral portal to be able to track incoming, view candidate/ referrer information and update statuses.
Referrers needed a place to view needs of the company, view the status of candidates and their payouts.
