AdventureUS Case Study
Overview
The objective was to create a product that would allow the user to easily map out, plan and cutomize every detail of their adventure road trip.
The Project: When presented with the idea of a creating a location based app, I immediately thought of all the road trips I’ve taken over my life and how I always feel like I’m jumping from one app to another in order to plan the kind of trip I want to take. I thought it would be nice if you could integrate everything into one. I then began interviewing friends and peers to see if this idea resonated with them, as well as what they would want to have and then the app really started to take shape.

Hypothesis: Road trippers who are traveling to take part in outdoor adventure activities seem to spending a lot of time across many different apps to piece their trip together. They often use one app to route a trip, one to find activities and another for things like gas, food and lodging. Also, many outdoor athletes like to see what their community is doing in different areas and have the opportunity to live and adventure like a local while they are one the road. It would be much more efficient to have all their apps integrated into one.
Process: After finalizing my hypothesis for the project I started in on a user flow, keeping in mind my user. Based on the flow I began to wireframe rough ideas for several parts of the flow. I wanted these to be straight foward and easy to navigate from one home screen for ease of use. I created a few user test scenarios with lo-fi wireframes and quickly found some missed opportunities and areas of improvement. During this time I also worked on the brand by creating style boards, and a color palette. I Then began to move into mid-fi wireframes adding colors, improved icons and feedback from the user testing. These new wireframes went through A,B testing to see which theme users preferred. Once this was nailed down, the Hi-fi wireframes were fleshed out.
